The goal of our Youth Ministry Program is to help teens to grow closer in their relationship with Christ.
Archdiocesan Youth Day
Archdiocesan Youth Day is an opportunity for teens in the Archdiocese to experience something like World Youth Day, without the travel price! This event takes every year in October and is for high school teens. Our second year Confirmation students are required to attend this event and 10th through 12th graders encouraged to come along. Archdiocesan Youth Day 2021 will take place Saturday, October 16.
REVIVE
REVIVE is a Youth Mass with great speakers and awesome music at St Michael Catholic Church in St Michael organized by the area youth ministers. 2021-2022 dates are Saturdays, Oct 2, Jan 8 & April 2. These are required events for both first and second year Confirmation students.
Winterblast
Winterblast is a middle school lock-in at the Maple Grove Community Center and is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 10th, 2021. Winterblast is a blast! Swimming, hockey, Adoration, Minute to Win-It, Snacks, Pizza and Pop, Mass, Crazy Hair, Crafts, Confession, Board Games, Arcades, DJ, Prayer Experiences and more!!
Register in November, event is for Grades 6-8th, but we are looking for Teen Leaders in Grades 10-12th to come along and minister to the middle school attendees. Teen Leader training is mandatory and scheduled for Sunday, December 5th.
Rise Up
We are never too young to strive for holiness. This one-day conference for middle school youth challenges them to “rise up” to live their faith radically, confident that they are known and loved by God the Father.
Young people will be strengthened in their relationship with Christ through keynote speakers, praise & worship, Adoration, Reconciliation, and lots of fun activities!!
Rise Up takes place each year in March and is required for our first year Confirmation students. Our 6th and 7th graders are encouraged to attend as well.
Summer Stretch
Summer Stretch is our summer youth service program. It runs for six Wednesdays each summer. We begin the day with 8:00 a.m. Mass, followed by a breakfast meeting. We then head out to do a service project like Feed My Starving Children or Sharing and Caring Hands. After volunteering we have lunch and do something fun like kayaking or mini-golf.
Registration begins in March!!
Extreme Faith Camp
Extreme Faith Camp takes place at Trout Lake Camp in Pine River, MN in June each summer and is for students completing sixth, seventh or eighth grade with ninth graders invited to participate in the prayer team and older teens who've completed a year of prayer team asked to come back and lead as the Extreme Team.
Registration begins after January 1st and St Johns can help you fundraise for this event by participating in Buying Stock in Youth this March on Saturday and Sunday, March 20th & 21st.
